Adrien Viot, photographe né en 1985, autodidacte. Ses photographies énigmatiques, souvent en mouvement, tentent de saisir toute la mélancolie et l’instabilité complexe du monde.
Il grandit dans des paysages sans histoire dans une ville nouvelle en banlieue parisienne. Il suit des études d’agronomie et de zootechnie, devient durant quelques années ouvrier agricole.
Il change de voie en intégrant une école de journalisme, devient reporter et animateur radio pour OUI FM, avant de rejoindre la scène pop française, compositeur-chanteur et parolier. Il est notamment remarqué par Etienne Daho qui lui tire le portrait pour son expo “Daho l’aime Pop” à la Cité de la Musique (2017).
Portraitiste, il aime aller explorer la beauté trouble de ses modèles, issus des différentes sphères dans lesquelles il évolue.
À la croisée du reportage et de l’expérimentation, il s'intéresse aux injonctions patriarcales et familiales qui façonnent les masculinités et relèguent les hommes à l’isolement, parfois à la clandestinité. Cette recherche irrigue notamment sa série en cours, "Les hommes du Milieu", développée dans le cadre du mentorat 2025-2026 du Fonds Régnier avec l’agence VU’.
Dans la continuité de son travail "les hommes du milieu" qu’il réalise actuellement à Hanoï, il commence un projet au Japon sur les jōhatsu (les évaporés) : ces hommes ayant volontairement disparu de leurs familles pour refaire leur vie à l’autre bout du pays.

Adrien Viot, a photographer born in 1985, is self-taught. His enigmatic photographs, often in motion, seek to capture the full melancholy and complex instability of the world.
He grew up in unremarkable landscapes in a new town on the outskirts of Paris. He studied agronomy and animal science, and worked for several years as a farm laborer.
He later changed direction by enrolling in a journalism school, becoming a reporter and radio host for OUI FM, before joining the French pop scene as a singer-songwriter and lyricist. He was notably recognized by Étienne Daho, who portrayed him for his exhibition “Daho l’aime Pop” at the Cité de la Musique (2017).
A portrait photographer, he enjoys exploring the ambiguous beauty of his subjects, drawn from the different spheres in which he evolves.
At the crossroads of reportage and experimentation, he examines the patriarchal and familial pressures that shape masculinities and often confine men to isolation, sometimes even to invisibility. This line of research notably informs his ongoing series, “Men of the Middle,” developed as part of the 2025–2026 mentorship program of the Fonds Régnier with the VU’ agency.
In continuity with his current work “Men of the Middle,” which he is developing in Hanoi, he is beginning a new project in Japan on the jōhatsu (“the evaporated”)—men who have voluntarily disappeared from their families to start new lives in another part of the country.
